Size guide and measurements

Please note that knitting with the correct gauge is essential to end up with a garment that has the measurements given in the pattern.

The sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL are designed to fit an approximate bust circumference of 80-85 (85-90) 90-95 (95-100) 100-110 (110-120) 120-130 cm [31½-33½ (33½-35½) 35½-37½ (37½-39½) 39½-43¼ (43¼-47¼) 47¼-51¼ inches]. The Novice Sweater 窶¼-4¾ inches] of positive ease. This means that if you for example measure 94 cm [37 inches] around your bust (measure yourself around your bust, or the widest point of your torso, using a measuring tape), you should knit a size M which has a finished circumference of 102 cm [40¼ inches].

Gauge: 21 stitches x 28 rows = 10 x 10 cm [4 x 4 inches] in stockinette stitch on 4 mm [US6] needles with 2 strands of silk mohair held together, after blocking

Needles: Circular needles: 3 mm [US2½] / 40 and 80 cm [16 and 32 inches], 4 mm [US6] / 40, 60 and 80 cm [16, 24 and 32 inches] needles; Double-pointed needles: 3 mm [US2½] needles

Yarn: 175 (175-200) 200 (225) 225 (275) 325 g Silk Mohair by Isager Yarn (25 g = 212 m [232 yds]) or Tynn Silk Mohair by Sandnes Garn (25 g = 212 m [232 yds]) or Tilia by Filcolana (25 g = 210 m [230 yds]) or Brushed Lace by Mohair By Canard (25 g = 210 m [230 yds]). Note: Two strands of yarn are held together throughout the pattern. The given yardage amounts are the total yardage required. If you want long sleeves on your sweater, please add 25 g of yarn for each size.
